Shot blasting, also known as blast cleaning, is important for any manufacturing industry. It helps keep parts lasting longer. It is a mechanical way to shoot abrasive at a part. This uses a centrifugal wheel to remove dirt, scale, and other small impurities from the surface. This results in a consistently clean surface profile, ready for your preferred finishing process. For example, this could be structural steel which includes massive bridge girders and heavy construction equipment, such as large weldments, plate steel, bar and wire steel, and foundry castings. After the steel abrasive hits the surface, the shot blast machine recycles the media. Dust and other particles are removed by an air wash separator in the machine. Then, they are sent to a dust collector.This process provides a dust-free operation.In general, blasting before moving onto finishing serves a few primary purposes.
